Piaget Hosts Reception To Benefit Toni Stabile Center For The Prevention And Treatment Of Osteoporosis

Countess Nubia Braschi and actress Arlene Dahl to be honored

WHAT: Robert J. Filotei, president of Piaget, will host a cocktail reception recognizing “Generations – From Mothers to Daughters” in honor of National Osteoporosis Month and to benefit the Toni Stabile Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Osteoporosis at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. Countess Nubia Braschi and actress Arlene Dahl will be honored for their contributions in the fight against osteoporosis. Each will receive a Piaget Generation Award in recognition of their efforts.Tickets for the reception are $125, which includes a chance to win a Piaget Ladies Miss Protocole Watch, with a retail value of $10,600.

WHO: Ethel S. Siris, M.D., Madeline C. Stabile Professor of Clinical Medicine at Columbia University and director of the Toni Stabile Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Osteoporosis, will be present to answer questions and to share information about the center. Sharon Marantz Walsh is chairman of the benefit committee. Honorary co-chairs are James Earl Jones and his wife, Cecilia Hart Jones; Stuart and Jane Weitzman; Peter and Karen Martino; Carmen Dell’Orefice; and Dr. Octavio Arancio and Tina Radzwill.

WHY: To spread the word about the progress being made in the fight against osteoporosis and to honor those who are working to accelerate this progress. The Toni Stabile Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Osteoporosis is a dedicated provider of compassionate, comprehensive patient care, research, and education. Its aim is to create a greater awareness of osteoporosis and to develop and deliver improved methods for the diagnosis and treatment of those at risk and those who suffer from this disease. Osteoporosis affects an estimated 28 million Americans, mainly women, resulting in some 1.5 million bone fractures a year in people over 45.
