I-STOP Act Takes Effect Aug. 27

Preparing for the Internet System for Tracking Over-Prescribing Act

It’s time to prepare for I-STOP (the Internet System for Tracking Over-Prescribing Act), which takes effect on August 27.

Under I-STOP, practitioners prescribing controlled substances, Schedule II–IV, have a duty to consult the Controlled Substance Information on Dispensed Prescriptions website.
In addition, prescribers of controlled substances, Schedule II–IV, must:

* Register for a Health Commerce System account
* Request additional administrator access accounts
* Assign additional coordinator access accounts
