Columbia Hosts 36th Annual Multicultural Recruitment Day Conference

The College of Physicians and Surgeons, through its Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs, will present the 36th annual multicultural recruitment day conference April 5.

The conference, titled “Medical School: Challenges and Opportunities,” will consist of workshops and a keynote address. It is free to the more than 300 high school, premed undergraduate, and postgraduate students from underrepresented and disadvantaged groups who attend each year.

In addition to addressing the issue of the critically low number of physicians from traditionally underrepresented groups, the conference provides information on medical school admissions, financial aid, the transition to medical school, research opportunities, and related topics.
