P&S Student Chosen for HHMI Program

A Columbia medical student is among 70 medical and veterinary students from 37 schools across the country who will do laboratory research for a full year as participants in the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Medical Research Fellows Program.

Andrew Zheng, who started with the Class of 2015, will conduct his year of research at P&S through a project funded by the Foundation Fighting Blindness. The Foundation Fighting Blindness issued a news release about Mr. Zheng’s plans for his research year.

A medical student from Stony Brook University, Young Jin Kim, will spend his research year in a P&S lab.
