Beth Mayers Is Named Chief Contracting Officer For ColumbiaDoctors

Beth Mayers of the Managed Care Contracting Division has been promoted to the role of chief contracting officer, effective March 1.

“We are delighted to see Beth advance in her nearly 24-year career here at Columbia, as the result of her outstanding work on behalf of the faculty practice,” said George A. “Jack” Cioffi, MD, president of the faculty practice.

“Beth is responsible for negotiating managed care payer contracts, which account for the majority of ColumbiaDoctors’ clinical revenue. She also is charged with the implementation of defined strategies, and oversight of the operational, administrative, educational and financial aspects of ColumbiaDoctors agreements,” said Robert T. Grant, MD, FACS, co-chair of the Managed Care Committee.

In this role, Mayers oversees managed care strategy, contract negotiation, analysis and decision support; contract implementation, operationalization, and compliance; and payer-issue resolution.

She holds a JD from the University of Virginia, an MPH from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, and a BA from Johns Hopkins University.
