We are pleased to announce the appointment of Robin M. Honig, a senior financial administrator at the University of Chicago, to the newly created role of chief financial officer, senior business officer, and associate vice dean at P&S, effective June 19, 2017. In this new role, Honig will be responsible for the financial management of P&S departments, centers, and institutes, school-based administrative units, and ColumbiaDoctors. She will report to the vice dean for administration and the ColumbiaDoctors CEO and coordinate financial administration with the P&S dean’s office and ColumbiaDoctors financial staff, as well as with CUMC for unit-level budget planning, analysis, and reporting. She will work closely with the dean, ColumbiaDoctors president, department chairs, and center and institute directors as well as department administrators in support of the financial, clinical, academic, and research goals of P&S and ColumbiaDoctors.
Ms. Honig, a certified public accountant, received a degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting from the Boston University School of Management, where she graduated summa cum laude. At the University of Chicago, Ms. Honig has been associate dean of finance and administration in the Biological Science Division, which includes the university’s medical school and practice plan, since 2006. She also served as interim vice dean of finance and administration for Chicago Medicine, which includes the University of Chicago Medical Center, and vice president for clinical practice finance. Before moving into higher education financial administration, Ms. Honig worked at Trans National Group as vice president of finance and at PricewaterhouseCoopers, formerly known as Coopers & Lybrand, in audit and consulting roles.
