ColumbiaDoctors/NYP Successfully Launches Joint Venture Imaging Service at West 51st Street

ColumbiaDoctors and NewYork-Presbyterian successfully launched a new partnership for state-of-the-art radiology services at West 51st Street this month, now operating as ColumbiaDoctors/NewYork-Presbyterian Imaging. The partnership “creates a great opportunity for ColumbiaDoctors, NewYork-Presbyterian and the Department of Radiology to meet the increasing imaging needs of our patients and referring physicians, and solidifies an already existing relationship between the partner institutions,” according to Lawrence H. Schwartz, MD, chair of the Department of Radiology at CUMC.

In a patient-friendly, service-oriented environment, ColumbiaDoctors/NewYork-Presbyterian Imaging, 51 W. 51st Street, Suite 300-301, offers a full range of radiology services, including radiography, mammography, ultrasound, bone densitometry, CT scan, PET/CT, MRI and interventional radiology services. Same-day services are available for all modalities with immediate access to finalized reports and images for patients and referring clinicians.

This partnership will be seamless, and will benefit our patients in important ways:

  • This new partnership will augment the integration of health care across all sites, so patient records and care-related information will be available wherever a patient sees their providers
  • Same-day services for all modalities are possible
  • The partnership will facilitate the future expansion of services and state-of-the-art technologies going forward, to ensure that we are able to provide better care in the future
  • There will be no change to patients’ medical records and a single bill will be generated

Enhanced interventional radiology services will continue at our 51st Street location. These include vascular and nonvascular minimally invasive procedures and consultation services. Additionally, cancer treatments, biopsies, uterine fibroid embolizations, angioplasty, stent placements, varicose vein diagnosis, and treatments, as well as many other diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are available.
