ColumbiaDoctors is excited to announce the opening of its new neurological surgery practice in Bronxville, where three of our top neurological surgeons will now be seeing patients. Conveniently located across the street from NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital and steps from the Bronxville Metro North train station, the location offers pre-surgical consultations and post-surgical follow-up appointments. Imaging and other diagnostic tests are also available nearby at NYP/Lawrence Hospital.
“Our new location offers patients in the Westchester area the convenience of seeing physicians that they would otherwise have to travel to New York City to see, significantly cutting down travel time,” said Marc L. Otten, MD, director of Columbia Neurosurgery, NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence and assistant professor of Neurological Surgery at CUMC. “As someone who grew up in this area, and now lives here with my family, I understand how exciting it is to be able to easily access the care that once required a trip to the city.”
Dr. Otten specializes in tumors of the brain, skull base tumors, pituitary tumors, Chiari malformation, trigeminal neuralgia and hemifacial spasm. He also treats hydrocephalus. He is joined by spinal surgeon Peter D. Angevine, MD, who specializes in adult and pediatric spinal deformities, neuromuscular spinal deformities, complex spinal surgery, scoliosis and sagittal imbalance.
The third member of the team is Guy M. McKhann II, MD, the Florence Irving Associate Professor of Neurological Surgery, who also directs Columbia’s Epilepsy and Movement Disorder Surgery, Adult Hydrocephalus Center, and Awake Brain Mapping for Tumors and Epilepsy. A specialist in brain tumors, epilepsy, movement disorders and adult hydrocephalus, Dr. McKhann’s treatment expertise includes awake brain mapping, minimally invasive microneurosurgery, Gamma Knife radiosurgery, and deep brain stimulation.
